Migrant uprising over

PRINCE GEORGE (CKNW/AM980) -- The uprising by a group of Chinese migrants at the Prince George Jail is over. Corrections officials say the men have now dismantled a barricade they had set up in their unit, after smashing some windows. Corrections B.C. spokesperson Sheldon Green says the migrants were upset over the removal of electric kettles and rice cookers from their living quarters last night. Green says only about a dozen of the 40 migrants housed in the unit participated in the vandalism, and damage is relatively minor. No decision on disciplinary action has been made.
